Introduction

St Amand’s Catholic Primary school is situated in the village of East Hendred and serves the parishes of Didcot, East Hendred and Wantage.
St Amand’s take children from rising 5 years to 11 years, which is reception to year 6 and it currently has about 110 pupils.
St Amand’s is set in its own grounds with a sports field and playground. There is a smaller playground for the infants (reception to year 3). Class 1 (reception) also has its own outdoor area accessible from the classroom.
School meals are cooked fresh each day in the school’s own kitchen, which means vegetarian meals and special diets can be catered for. Children also have the choice to bringing in packed lunches

After school activities include a homework club open till 5.30pm at a small cost. There are also other clubs after school open to children from year 1 upwards including choir, sports, netball, dance and drama, and gym, which are free.
Children are encouraged to play the recorder and the County Music teachers hold regular classes at school.
Father David O’Sullivan, Didcot parish priest, is the school’s chaplain and holds regular Masses at school.
